Ideal for family holidays, the Gîte l’Ostau allows you to spend an unforgettable holiday in a peaceful and authentic landscape in the Barétous valley.

Located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Haut Béarn, at the border of the Basque Country and Spain, both of our lodgings are located at 350 m altitude, in a working farm on the edge of a private forest . The Vert River located at 100m from the cottages, will delight children and fishermen.

Both of our 3 star, "2 epis" cottages, which have been approved by the National Federation of Gites of France and classified fishing Gites, have been built in an old béarnaise barn located in the very heart of a farm, and are very popular with children. The close proximity to nature will bring you a sense of well-being and tranquillity.

The geographical location of your stay will allow you will spend a dream holiday whatever the season. Our lodgings are located within only half hour of the closest ski resorts (Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing) and in the immediate vicinity of numerous other outdoor activities (hiking, mountain biking, acrobranche, canoeing ...).

Throughout your stay, Mado and Pierre will be pleased to help discover the animal’s of the farm: cattle (Blonde d'Aquitaine) and Donkeys. They will also happily provide you with information about the huge amount of walking and hiking opportunities offered by the Barétous valley and its surroundings.
